Some of you may argue that Enoch and Elijah aren’t dead and have been in the Father’s presence in heaven since Old Testament times.
Well, the problem here is that many of you fail to realize that the Old and New Testaments will not contradict each other and therefore, have failed to reconcile them together and thus, do not see the bigger and clearer picture.
I mean, you can’t ignore what CHRIST himself has clearly said about this subject in the New Testament!
You must go out from your comfort zone and search for the truth outside your box! After you’ve found it, THEN you can retrieve it and secure it back into your own private box! But in the meantime, you must put the WHOLE puzzle together before being able to see the BIG picture! Only then can you REALLY understand and see THE TRUTH!
Jesus clearly refutes the claims that some have gone to heaven!
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father EXCEPT through Me.
Once again, this emphasizes that it is only when Jesus RETURNS, that we shall all be gathered unto Him and the Father in heaven! There’s no other way around it! So we, and that includes the Old Testament Prophets, must all wait until that time when He returns for us. Jesus says He is the ONLY WAY one can get to the Father in heaven. And Jesus (as the Son of God) wasn’t known to any man until New Testament times! Enoch and Elijah, are from Old Testament times!!!
And again, scripture so profoundly reaffirms this by saying,
John 1:18 NO ONE has seen God AT ANY TIME. The only begotten Son, He who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
Still, there are those who have a hard time accepting this truth because it goes against the grain of what they believe, and will insist that Enoch, Elijah and Moses, did go to heaven but perhaps, just hadn’t seen God the Father at the time John spoke these words.
But once again John refutes:
John 3:13 And NO ONE has gone up into heaven EXCEPT He who came down out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.
John wrote the Gospel of John some time after the death and resurrection of Christ. So please notice how the very end of the above verse reflects this by indicating “WHO IS” in heaven! So when John wrote his gospel, Christ had already resurrected to heaven- but in the same sentence he makes it very clear that NO ONE ELSE has EVER gone there!
So clearly no one else ascended into heaven with Christ either as so many falsely believe! Jesus says that no one comes to the Father EXCEPT through Him! And that we can’t go there UNTIL He returns for us.
Folks, when we die- WE DIE! We go nowhere but to the grave where we unconsciously await the blessed and promised resurrection. Remember, God ALONE is immortal (1 Timothy 6:15-16).
With that, I’ll leave you with these next few verses and as you read them, NOTICE who they are REALLY addressing. They are addressing the INTELLIGENT, MENTAL BEING, who can process and digest thought! AND ARE NOT addressing solely a lifeless and inert glob of clay, incapable of comprehension, HEARING or UNDERSTANDING, like the immortal soul persuasion would have us believe.
These verses address YOU and ME and EVERYONE ELSE that can see, read, or HEARS them! It would be pointless to address someone- or something, that is not any livelier than the walls in your room.
Whichever part of you that is seeing, reading and digesting what is being read in this page RIGHT NOW, is the very part that will cease to exist at the moment of death!
Psalms 6:5 IF I DIE, I CANNOT praise you or EVEN REMEMBER you.
Psalms 115:17 THE DEAD PRAISE NOT the LORD, NEITHER ANY that go down into SILENCE.
Psalms 146:4 His breath goes forth; he returns to the earth; in that very day HIS THOUGHTS PERISH!
Ecclesiastes 9:10 Work hard at whatever you do. YOU will soon go to the world of the dead, where NO ONE WORKS or THINKS or REASONS or KNOWS ANYTHING!
It Is PERFECTLY CLEAR as to whom death is being attributed to in scripture! It PROVES without a shadow of a doubt, that death, COMPLETELY DISABLES THAT INTELLIGENCE, which holds, controls and sustains the capacity OF MEMORY, FUNCTION AND THOUGHT!
Characteristics that in this false theory, ARE NEVER attributed to a shell body at death, but rather TO A SEPARATE UNDYING and LIVELY SOUL! And yet, according to the bible, these very attributes are the very ones that actually come to an abrupt end when the intelligence in control of them ceases to exist in the state, or condition, known as death!
The implication here is that whatever BEING- or intelligence, who was praising, remembering, working, thinking or reasoning BEFORE death, WILL NOT have the ability to do any of those things AFTER death, having passed down into utter SILENCE!
Folks, we’ve just seen that this IS EXACTLY what ceases to exist at death… YOU, ME, OUR SOULS! Please DON’T FORGET what a soul is:
Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God made man from the dust of the earth, breathing into him the breath of life: and man BECAME a living soul. (KJV)
So again I emphasize, WE, and that includes our bodies, ARE “living souls”! We don’t have a soul- WE ARE souls! As long as God’s breath is in us- we are living souls! Without the breath of life, we are just dead souls!
No, the soul IS NOT IMMORTAL and it DOES DIE!
Ezekiel 18:4: Behold, all souls are Mine. As the soul of the father, also the soul of the son, they are Mine. The soul that sins, it shall die. (KJV)
